Nice idea but I wonder how much more quickly your clothes will "wear out" with these prickly guys.

couldn't be any faster than they would from washing them in double the ick chemicals, as is the case with fabric softeners.

though i do wonder if running 4 or 6 of these through with a load of t-shirts wouldn't acheive the desired hipster threadbare look that much quicker.

My aunt has these dryer balls and they are TERRIBLE! Noisy and they don't soften the clothes at all!

I've heard that tossing 1/4 cup of red cider vinegar in the rinse cycle makes a great natural fabric softener. I've always meant to try it, but never get around to it.

No. Really. They're great. My dog runs around the yard with these in his mouth for hours.
for softening clothes?
huh.
I had no idea that's what they were for.

these things put dents in my brand new dryer. very noisy and didn't soften anything. most of the time, they ended up getting tangled in an article of clothing, towel, sheet, etc. and didn't 'float' around, so what's the point?
