your color sensibility is more sophisticated that many of the entries in the color contest, but the palette is a wee bit too tied together. take what you have done a step further and invigorate your space by introducing a color (and material finish) that is discordant with the gold/red thing you have going.

I think Rodger's right. The color scheme is there, the furniture looks good and comfortable, but it's missing something. A mix of textures, more lamps...ok, here's an idea, it's too square, too aligned. Get a round coffee table -- I think pottery barn has an interesting round, wicker coffee table. Then arrange those slipper chairs around the table, across from the couch. Otherwise, you're definitely going in the right direction.
