Microwave popcorn with a certain chemical is bad. Not ALL of it is. You could argue most is because of the butta, or for those scared of microwaves that's another issue. Diacetyl is the real ingredient in question though. I checked my Orville Redenbacher though and it didn't have any diacetyl. I just had a craving the other day. :)

i swear it is faster than microwave...

We had a wire screen popcorn popper when I was a kid. It had a very long handle and a flat container of copper screen with a lid that slid back. You held it over the stove or a fire and shook it. It made excellent popcorn very quickly. But maybe not quite the thing for the office...
