We've talked about how many health benefits there are in good tea, and we've also discussed (at length) whether it's better to add milk before or after steeping your tea. But now there's evidence to suggest that milk may cut down tea's natural health benefits.

I know with chocolate (which contains a lot of the same flavonoids as tea, such as epicatechin) that the evidence is inconclusive about adding milk: some studies say it does knock down antioxidant activity, while others say it doesn't.
My advice is to ignore all these studies and just drink tea the way you like it. If you will only drink it with milk, than drink it with milk. It's better for you to have tea than no tea at all - so don't sweat any possible antioxidant loss.

Milk may negate the (organic) fluoride compounds naturally found in tea - if you have fluoridated water, this may be doubly helpful, so I advise an educated web search, and looking into both sides of the issue, to assess the matter of fluoridation.
