From The Kitchn: Eat Slow Bowl from Greedy Pup

2009_01_09-Bowl02.jpgWe don't usually talk much about our pets at The Kitchn. But since it is Eating Light month, we couldn't pass up this bowl designed to help our canine friends lighten up and eat a little slower.

These bowls are fantastic for dogs who gulp their food. I've recommended them to a few people.

My dog isn't suited for it, being that she refuses to eat out of a bowl (she'll drink out of it, but kibble goes on a placemat), and she eats it one piece at a time anyway. Little princess she is.

These are great! I bought a Brake-Fast for my kitty who eats too fast (then immediately pukes), and it works great.

absolutmarie,

Try putting down your silverware between each bite. If you're still eating too fast, try chewing between 20-30 times before picking up your silverware again.

Just wondering, what is the benefit for a dog to eat slowly?
I know some dogs can regurgitate after eating, luckily mine doesn't, but is that related to eating quickly? I just thought eating quickly is a natural behavior for dogs.
