I think it's a good idea. hello, you can still lick the blade itsself, or just dig into the dough. I don't like that my current blade ignores the sides of the bowl because it means some of the powder (flour, powdered sugar, etc) does not get mixed into whatever I'm making unless I stop every now and then and scrape the sides with a spatula.

please -- bad idea. one of the great delights of baking is scraping the bowl with your finger.

Good idea!

Who cares about licking the damned bowl? This would be perfect for something like cheesecake, where you have to stop and scrape down the bowl numerous times to prevent lumps, and doing so may involve tedious removal and reinsertion of the bowl and paddle.

Yeah, I'd love to at least try this for cheesecakes, anything that involves creaming butter, and anything else that might tend to leave a layer of unincorporated substance stuck to the bowl.

GREAT IDEA!! ...because I was just baking my famous red velvet cake LAST NIGHT and hating how much I had to stop the mixer, get the rubber spatula and scrape down the sides and then go back to mixing every couple minutes.

This is just great. I hope it works just as good as it suggests.
