'pain in the ass' is my thought as well---compromising function for the sake of being a bit different is the recipe for creating BAD design. This seems like a bad case of it.

In art school a cranky design teacher told us, "Don't worry about doing something different. Do something good, and that will be different."

Trust me, Curtis, the joke was still so good that I'm still giggling.
I am all for creativity but that is the dumbest thing that I have ever seen.

I think it's a neat conversation piece, and it would eliminate the need for bookends. But the rocker means it would only be useful for books, as pictures and other display items could fall and break. I keep a lot of books, but I don't want to invest in a set of shelves I couldn't also use for other items.
Curtis - great joke. :)

Your toes would hate you, and so would your downstairs neighbors. 500 pounds of books rolling back and forth would make quite a racket on wood floors.

I saw this bookshelf in an exhibition in Paris. It struck me as graceful. The sloping position is weird but also makes you want to touch it - it's remarkably stable. I like its lightness and flexibility. Books in shelves are usually rather static and heavy, this is new - airy

Well, it makes me feel OK about never attaching my "safety wall anchors" for my Ikea bookcases.

Very odd idea.
I can't imagine WHY anybody would want a rocking bookshelf.

I can't help but think that my toe or my cats' tail would get smashed during one of the shifts. Why does this bookcase exist?
...and to top it off, there are no backs on the thing.
