Product Re(al)view: Naturemill's Composter Part 2
From Unplggd: Our site that untangles your wires

080408_sz_compost4.jpgLast week we asked if it stinks. This week we tell you that it does have a "strong organic odor". A week and a half in, and it looks like Sonja will soon have some compost ready for her outdoor garden. Pop over and take a peek at what it looks like and what she did to try and control the smell here.

What good is composting if you use energy to do it? I'm not getting the concept.

Monkey -

Have a look at the website - Apparently, this thing even takes dairy, meat, and fish due to the heat, mixing and air injection. Typical energyless and worm composting methods doesn't do this.

Baking soda will make your compost into poison. Please don't put that on your plants.

People shouldn't be wasting that much food. They should learn about portions etc. There are many ways to use up leftovers, including putting it in the freeezer and making a big pot of soup instead of throwing it away.

Just my opinion. Mom always said, "Don't put it on your plate if you're not going to eat it - you can always go back for more."

Seems to me composter would be of better use for vegetable peelings and tops, egg shells, banana skins, Saturday flowers, coffee grounds, some spoiled food etc. Otherwise, budget what you cook. We waste too much compared to other nations.
