That poodle pic made my day.
But, oy, that fish thing was a big sad waste of time. Mine AND his.
I thought the fish story was a sweet photo essay.
I enjoyed it.
Uh, hello, did you miss the part where the fish never actually makes it to the river?
Patrick - keep scrolling down!
Whoops. Yeah, I fell for the caption and huge gap of black.
Thanks, j p.
Sorry, m of m.
I did the same thing. I read it on April Fool's day, didn't scroll down and sent it to friends as a great April fool's link. For some reason I then went back decided to keep scrolling.
Warning to ppl browsing jake bronstien's site - there is some nsfw stuff there.
(I'm amazed he could lift/carry that monster, AND the water, which is one of the reasons I fell for it...)
Did you read any of the comments on the fish tale website? It may have seemed amusing or "kind" but it was a boneheaded idea. As several people noted releasing a non-native fish is ecologically as well as legally criminal assuming the fish even survived the ordeal. Not a cool thing to do.
I had a miniature poodle while I was growing up, and he would have been SO wrathful if we'd died him pink. (He had a serious Napoleon complex as it was.) Cute pic, though.
And not to go from totally flippant to serious, but RIP, Martin Luther King, Jr. What a courageous man.
Ooh, dyed him pink. We probably would have died a terrible death if we'd dyed him pink, though. ;)
I enjoyed the fish thing and how clearly excited he was to embark on this whole free willy expedition but I agree with the people who a) note the damage that can be done by introducing non-native species and b) observe that the fish was no doubt dead in the water.
I love that Mixko light. My college campus has an Oldenburg sculpture of a giant broken button and I was feeling the nostalgia.
I think I saw that poodle. I was standing outside KMart on Astor and a woman walked by with a pink poodle. Man, this country is crazy.
Funny thing is Jimkk (with all due respect to the now dead fish) that jake bronstein is all about the publicity and the story - not necessarily the cause which is what the dissenters are missing. After all he is editor at large of that bastion of journalistic integrity and beacon of moral values FHM magazine
fhmus.com (possibly nsfw - I don't know our firewall is blocking right now as prohibited content) and

Yeah, there was a definite "me me me me" vibe to that little photo fish tale.
House Industries!! Home of completely fabulous dingbats! *Gush* ...and they obviously love more than just kitchy retro graphic design -- I use and love NeutraFace and Chalet too...
