I keep trying to get onto the new USDA food pyramid site but it must be overwhelmed with hits. I'm not really sure what it accomplishes; are vertical stripes somehow easier to understand than horizontal blocks? I did also chuckle to see that the article in the NY Times about how overweight people (but not obese) have a lower mortality rate than normal weight people is now the 2nd most e-mailed article. Lots of people gonna eat cheeseburgers at lunch on that news.

Is anyone else reminded of latch-hook rugs by that table. It makes me want to dig out the hook I used as a kid and finish it off.

It's number one now... The radio today had a whole thing about that article, and they said that the skinniest people they found were the top 2% of the population, which sounds like scrawny to me. There is a risk to being underweight -- among other things, your immune system is slightly supressed. My doctor has told me to gain weight before, but I kinda like my body as is. Besides, I have plenty of time to catch up to the rest of America... I remember that advice when I hesitate before I have an extra cookie. Cookies are good for me...
