Stew Design Workshop: From North Carolina, Stew's furniture is "smartly sculpted from pressed plywood, [and] simutaneously infused with futuristic and organic forms."
One of my pals gets very snarky about how I do "craft projects" while he buys "art." I pointed out that my latest "craft project" meant I had a stylish, one-of-a-kind desk chair for under $45, while he... didn't.
(wants to go buy cheap tables...)

It's all a matter of perspective (as in, "yeah, but, he has new art-- and you have a used table") and personal priority.
I just don't like it when one person's choice seems to require the criticism or judgment of another's... (not saying you did, just sayin')

That was a much quieter p(too) response than I'd expected. There goes my meaning and purpose in life. ;-)
Actually, I'm totally in favor of acquiring Art if one knows what one's about, including scrimping the pennies on a poverty budget to afford something wonderful. There's some context to the rest of my story that makes the bragging inappropriate, but the culprit would be very hurt if I shared it with the world. (So I'll save it and do it as fiction, where I can exaggerate the good bits.)

Oh -- and since my foot seems to be lodged firmly behind my molars today -- my meaning and purpose is not to bait p(too) but to be the Tacky People of whom he can ask, "Who invited those tacky people?"

I am loving the glass headstones!!! But I question the 500 year "life" span. Guess I'll have to hang around to see...

Kudos to Amber on the table rehab!
