I dub thee Maxwell Gillingham-Keeler-Ryan!
Those giant glasses remind me of Stanley Tucci in The Impostors!
I can't believe Moss didn't make the cut on that Modernist list!
yes, it did.
personally, i found a lot of the bar and restaurant choices weird. a lot of them were dated as to what's currently hip, and/or not modern in design. Babbo, for instance, while it is a fantastic restaurant, is gilded age or turn of the century style -- it's in a Washington Square townhouse, and is meant to evoke more of an old new york dining vibe, NOT a modern one. I cannot imagine any self respecting local meeting friends for drinks at Whiskey Blue -- i've passed by many times and seen mostly tourists and people who look like they're here on business from L.A. i also wouldn't consider the decor to be particularly modern from what i could see through the street-level windows.
this left me wondering what the criteria are -- hip and trendy? modern design? the compilers' favorite places? random glances through the zagat guid?
