Tanya Aguiniga's Felted Folding Chairs

12-4-aguiniga-felt-chair-1.jpg

12-4-aguiniga-felt-chair-3.jpg We've been fans of Tanya Aguiniga's hand-felted pieces since we first spied them. They bring a cozy factor to the classic industrial folding chair (and some welcome color). As part of Design Miami's series of performance events, Tanya will be felting chairs with the help of participants. Via: Dezeen...

12-4-aguiniga-felt-chair-2.jpg Tanya uses natural fleece and felts with the aid of ecologically-friendly soap and water to create a seamless cover for a chair. Has anyone tried to felt a chair in the spirit of Tanya Aguiniga?

Can the chairs still fold? If not -why use a folding chair and not, say...an school chair or an officy chair?

These are somewhat creepy to me. I could see an installation where EVERYTHING was felted, but as a standalone piece, notsomuch.
