After looking over all the submissions we have so far, we realize that the three picture rule is a really tough constraint for small apartments. It is hard to get an idea of the whole place in just three pics beause of the tight angles and space constraints.
Therefore, we are going to welcome up to five pictures from contestants AND those who were posted yesterday will be able to submit more as well. Bring it on.

Good call.
Now all we need is the ability to vote again once all have been shown and before any are eliminated. Then, as I suggested before, the judges can take over and select the finalists :)
The three were really hard to judge an apartment by! I think Jamie Pup is right too...can we do a "first impression" and a "based on everything" stage of voting before the finals? I haven't voted for anything yet because in past contests, I've always wanted to change my vote after seeing all the entries.
Also, still wish we could vote on a scale - the 3 options are too rigid, in my opinion...
But what's the purpose of voting? To convey all the nuances and variations of opinion on someone's deisgn/decor/choices? Or to give the judges a way to help decide which make it to the finals without making the process overly complex and time consuming. Remember the competition fatigue that had obviously set in with the "I'v got Art" contest? There has to be a balance and I still say that our comments (which are a very large part of this site now) are an excellent way of conveying that scale or subtleties.
jamie pup,
I'm not sure if I agree that there was "competition fatigue" in the art contest. My sense is that after the first round of open voting, people lost interest because they no longer had any say in the outcome. I hope the current contest does something to avoid this, possibly by having an audience choice award.
I'm sure that's what some ppl thought but others did actually write comments that they were simply fed up of the competition going on so long. Not that I agree with them but that's what they wrote.
Hurrah, more photos!
