How would you like to be the one to know the winner first? How would you like to meet other AT readers and judges? How would you like to have a nice spring drink with us?
Then come on down to help celebrate the winners:
• DWR Tribeca
• Thursday, April 20
• 7-9pm
• Go to AT:LA for info on our LA party at DWR Manhattan Beach
When you arrive, the four winners will be prominently displayed in no particular order, and at 8pm we will be announcing the winning order (starting with 4th place) and awarding lovely, country fair ribbons to each one. Please RSVP below.
*Actually, when we booked Jon, he was relatively small and cool, but now he is not longer small, so he will be unable to make it.
Maxwell: You and AT have also become large - you do not need Jon Stewart.
Very cool way to announce the winners. I'm there!
Sorry, someone keeps interrupting me......I'm RSVP'ing....finally, I'll attend something.
Jon Stewart's gonna be there!!!!? Oh goody :)
Yeah, I like that!
BTW, don't know if he's moved in yet but Jon Stewart recently bought a place just a couple of blocks away from DWR so it would only be a short stroll for him.
I'll be there.
No, he's still small, he's just more famous now.
I plan to be there. Who's Jon Stewart? Is he on some HGTV show I've missed?
NO, jimkk, jon stewart is the favored winner on america's next top model. duh.
will be there..... cannot wait to hear about the new champ!
Damn.... I am flying into NY on that day from Chicago, too bad my flight doesn't land until 8PM.
Darn it. I'll be out of town and unable to attend the LA event. (Regrets posted here since thread isn't up yet on AT:LA site.)
I guess since this contest inspired me so much & I can't stand the suspense! it's time to quit being a lurker. What a great way to make the announcement :) I'll be there
Is this where I RSVP? I will attend.
I'll be 10-15 late, but I'll be there. I've found many of the submissions quite inspiring for my small currently uncool apartment.
je serais la', m'sieur.
signori, io ci saro'
I'll be there!
i am there!
Okay, someone tell me WHY the DWR in the meatpacking district closes at 7pm? I tried to go in there the other day at 7:01 pm, with the full intention of taking advantage of the 10% discount, and the door was locked.
It just seems like a store in that area would logically be open later, since the area doesn't even get hopping before dinner.
Sorry for the semi-OT rant.
Fiona--
Don't get me STARTED on why ANYTHING in NYC closes at 7. Walked by Bo Concept in Chelsea last night.. closed at 7. West Elm was open-- and busy-- until 9.
For all the crap that "less sophisticated markets" outside of NYC take, at least you can go shopping until 9 just about ANYWHERE.
AND, I HATE when various outposts of the same chain close at different times.
Whoa. That felt kinda good.
fiona, they were open until they saw you coming, then locked the frickin' door. i know - i was inside, and had to wait half an hour before they let me out.
And how, pphillipp, did you spend your time, locked up with all those bored and stylish salesmen?
they asked me to vacuum. intimidated, i complied.
pphillipp, I don't think that's the story P2 was hoping for.
Ha!
PS - P2, yes, different stores in the same chain closing at different times drives me crazy, too.
Hey! Do ALL stores close in NY around 7? Why? That's interesting. What about grocery stores? Some here are 24 hours (handy). Even Home Depot is open 24 hours. I mean, it IS bathroom month (on AT, without contests), and if someone gets the urge to install that new sink at 3 AM, they can go pick it up.
I don't really know what Jon Stewart does either. I think he's supposed to be funny. And I'm not interested enough to look it up (especially since Maxwell fooled us and he isn't coming and I don't live in N.Y. anyway).
Fiona--
You know me too well.
But sometimes an intimidated guy vacuuming works. ;)
Andree--
Not all stores close at 7. Lots of 24 hour stores (delis/small groceries), some with late hours, and major department stores stay open later. But why everything doesn't, I don't understand.
"they asked me to vacuum. intimidated, i complied"..Think of how good this would be as the first sentence in a short novel....you guys make me smile. Thanks.
I'll have a good dream. Nite!
HA!

jackie--
I think I have that book. Or the video.
"Think of how good this would be as the first sentence in a short novel"
actually, i think it's the first line of a sylvia plath poem - "the disquieting aurelias"
I will come + 1.
oh, btw, i'll probably be there +1
Yes, I will be a "plus 1" as well.
I think I can make it for this one!
Tentative yes
Hoping to attend -- may even have the SO this time, too!
me +1
