very nice use of space.

Be careful with the halogen floor lamp near your bed.

They are a fire hazard because the bulb gets unusually hot very quickly.

There are other inexpensive choices out there that look good.

This is very Upper East Side, but -- coming from a West Sider -- I mean that in a very good way. It looks classy and pulled together. Not my taste, but totally admirable. I voted supercool -- one of my few such votes -- because this is one of the best entries; speaking its own language, on its own terms, and eloquently.

I agree, great view and very "together" looking but to me this kind of looks like a hotel suite.

My first thought was "adults live here". So nice to see something so clean and classy. Love the bed nook.

I love how the pillow on the couch picks up on the colors of the mosque dome outside.

Very grand and lush. A few elements don't work for me. But overall great job.

Love the couch. Where's it from? Is it by any chance the Arliington from Pottery Barn? I've been thinking about buying that one and am wondering if it's comfortable...

3 things to add.

1 - The view is WOW!
2 - The furniture is SUPER WOW!
3 - The layout is SUPER DUPER WOW!

The home depot halogen torchier is an automatic 'Not so much' vote. Sorry, but like vertical blinds, they should never have survived the eighties.

I looked through all the pictures and could not find the T & A. Talk about false advertising!

Seriously though, Frank is right about it feeling very UES. Not super cool in my book, but it works very well for what it's trying to be.

Thanks for the comments!
I completely agree about the ugly halogen lamp. We've been trying to get rid of it for awhile but it's so bright...it will be gone soon.
Our couch is from Mitchell Gold Bob Williams and it's very comfortable.
We're in The Monterey, not Normandie.

When I saw this place, I thought about how it had a lot of style, good layout, and the pieces had a lot of personality. I knew then that it would not get many good votes as anything which isn't minimalist or full of Ikea pieces isn't voted as "super cool".

This isn't my style, but I'm full of appreciation for how well done this is. I love the curtains that divide the living room and bedroom as well as the dining room chairs. I could never pull off those sorts of pieces effectively and I think it takes a lot to incorporate more ornate items like that into a space effectively. I voted "super cool", despite it not being to my tastes as it really works so well.

My taste runs more to mid-century mixed with industrial BUT there are some very nice elements here. The couch really is gorgeous and I like the use of the curtain as a room divider. Of course the view is amazing. I also like the mirror over the bed, which opens up the space. Thank you for not painting the walls. Makes the furniture pop.

It looks like a luxurious hotel suite -- and I mean that as a compliment. Everything looks very sumptuous and welcoming. Well done.

I suppose the "not my bag" votes are for anyone who dares not own an Eames chair or a "Keep calm Carry On" poster. I like the change of pace from a lot of other entries, and I particularly like your bed.

This is coherent, clean and the view is extremely nice. A happy home. The ironwork however is so much 'not my style'...

The dining room table and chairs aren't my personal taste, but other than that, it's great. The picture of the sofa with the bed in the background looks like it came out of a journal (meant as a compliment).
Enjoy your home!

I'm quite surprised at the "Not my bag, baby..." votes. I must be voting wrong. I gave this a "Super Cool". It was very well put together. Are people voting against this place because it does not show a picture of the bathroom and a better view of the kitchen? It'd be a shame. If only people could look beyond that. That's why I don't like the 5 picture minimum, it gigs great places like this home.

not my style but very smart.

love the mirrors on the often deadening cabinet back wall, the lack of curtains, your editing, the tan/blue color scheme, and the wall hangings/groupings.

could you loose the footboard on the bed? it seems to block the flow.

and i'd change the dining chairs...the backs are too high and off scale of your other pieces (maybe lucite or ghost chairs?).

Lovey to see a home that looks warm and livable, but not keen on the dining chairs, and the way things are arranged round the TV so that they draw attention to it. Really nice and cosy though, and doesn't feel cramped...

Love the curtains framing the entrance of the bedroom.

Love the the dining chairs; curve is elegant.

Color of curtains, dining chair back and sofa cushion is lovely and warms up your home so nicely.

I can't believe this isn't Super Cool. I really don't understand the voting on here yet.... I love the bedroom nook and the overall warm, cozy feel of the place. It's professional but not cold, full of life but not cluttered. The only thing I had a problem with was the dining area, it doesn't jibe as much with the rest of the area, to me. Great job!

Very nice...... but yeah the Halogen lamp has to go, and the bookcase next to the tv seems out of place... other then that love the place..
p.s. as a former UESider, what may not be cool gets more space at a better price.. Hey the Lower East side used to be tenaments for immigrants and now it's cool to live in the same squalid apartments the health dept was formed in NYC because of the poor conditions..Go figure.. Now all the yuppies want to live there, Hey the apartments haven't gotten any bigger!!!

Having lived on the UES, I know exactly what this apartment looks like when it is empty, and it's not pretty. Tina, you've really warmed this place up and taken away that sterile, depressing, cookie cutter feeling those little apartments have. I like it!

given the difficulties of sapce i think you did a terrific job. each area is clearly defined for function, it is cozy but not congested, the warm color-scheme works well throughout. bravo to you.

beautiful view, beautiful sofa, beautiful light. but something about this place just yells "Pottery Barn." all those gilded-looking tables & chairs don't seem comfortable or warm to me, either. i think this place needs an accent color to help all those warm neutral really shine... I guess it just seems like very "safe" decor to me.

I love the view from your living your room to your bedroom; it looks so opulent. I wish you had some drapes or curtains on your windows though; the bare 'apartment windows' take the living room back down a notch, for me.

this is shaping up to be a weird contest! I voted 'cool' because I love the direction you're going in, but that "tv wall" is at odds with the rest of the apartment. i really like this luxurious vibe that's not girly.

thank you, thank you, thank you for pictures which show your space and not just your stuff.

i voted 'super cool'. i do think the tv wall needs... something to make it feel as finished as the rest of the apartment (and hooray for getting rid of the halogen lamp). that said, i love the drapes leading into the bedroom, the trio of mirrors in the dining area, and the way everything works together.
