Flat Out Sofa Sleeper by Blu Dot
Sofa Sleeper of the Week

Blu Dot's other sofa bed option — Flat Out — combines the company's felt-like upholstery and straightforward, modern aesthetic into a multipurpose piece at one of their lowest price points for a sofa.

Flat Out is straightforward and easy to transition from sofa to bed. Both the sofa and bed are comfortable, but given the choice, we'd prefer the unique transition (cool factor!) and styling of the more expensive One Night Stand.

Like Blu Dot's One Night Stand, Flat Out is upholstered in a wool blend that resembles felt and is available in grey or rust.

In New York, you can see Flat Out at the SoHo Flagship store.

Flat Out was based on Blu Dot's +OO Bendzo Sofa Bed for Urban Outfitters — it's similar except for the legs. The Bendzo was originally $648 and is now only $349! The chunky wooden legs are not nearly as sleek as Flat Out, but it's a great deal for a sofa bed.

Cute tufting! That's something unexpected.

There's one from Room and Board that's 299.00 cheaper and better looking.

The reviews on the Urban Outfitters version make it sound uncomfortable (though I do prefer firm sofas). Any idea if this pricier model is better-constructed? Nicer materials, better cushions?

Meh, looks like the red-headed stepchild of the Ligne Roset sleeper sofa. Half the price, yes, but I worry about the quality. Blu Dot is very hit and miss.

Really, Joan? I went looking but all I can find is the Encore sofa, which is $899.

Joan must be referring to the Encore sofa, which is $200 less. I can't find any on R&B that are cheaper.

Hi GreatFriend:
I've been looking at the white pleather sleeper from the door store. In Maxime's post I asked about the one that he has, and he and another ATer answered my questions about the comfort level. Check it out when you have time!

(you get the picture)
also, local places such as sit down ny, and furniture depot in nj, carry white faux leather sleepers. Check out dealers on craigslist.
