Front Studio: Design for Homes, Offices and Rollercoasters

2005_9_22_front1.jpgFront FYI. After posting on Front Design, the Danish design ratpack manned by women, we were curious when we ran across Front Studio on Spring Street. Our curiosity was rewarded.

2004_9_22_front2.jpgBehind an elegant website, you will find the current work of two young designers, Yen Ha and Ostap Rudakevych, who started Front in 2001 after working with one another since freshman year at Carnegie Mellon University.

2004_9_22_front3.jpgFront Studio has completed a handful of offices and residences, stamping each with their spare, minimal and playful design sense. They are committed to "high profile public projects as well as secluded private residences." We like the word "secluded." We would like a "secluded private residence."

2004_9_23_front.jpgOf note, Front's public design projects include a Dr. Suessian roller coast proposal for the High Line in the West Village, and a large egg-shaped green topiary bush for Times Square.

We dig their imagination and style and wish them the best of luck. MGR
