Stepping down 59th street last night we stopped to gawk at the pure design porn in the windows of Nanz Hardware. Known for their hardware, they had beautiful lighting fixtures by Remains Lighting of all shapes and sizes.
High end and finely made, Nanz deals in hinges, knobs, locks, levers, trim, cabinet and assorted hardware. Well known to the trade, their 59th street store is open for retail customers to walk into and their downtown store only needs an appointment.
If you have a jewelbox of an apartment and want to finish it off with some of the finest hardware, poke your head into Nanz.

Everything is custom and exquisite.
A beautiful doorknob can be yours for $1000.
Hopefully one will need ten or more.....
This is the NOT at all AT's original concept.
Highly doubtful that any AT contributor will ever be able to afford to incorporate some of this stuff into their tiny spaces.....
But Bravo for raising the bar.
The AT post is not correct. the lighting is not by Nanz, only the door hardware. The Lighting is by a company called Remains.
The store is called Nanz Custom Hardware and they do not sell lighting. The lighting is by Remains Lighting. The two companies share the space. They both have beautiful things and they both have two showrooms in Manhatan. Remains LIghting also has a showroom at 130 west 28th street and shares the Los Angeles showroom listed above with Nanz.
