We recently saw Sean Scherer's home on re-nest via The New York Times so when my husband and I were up in the Catskills this weekend and came across one of the best antique stores I have ever seen, it felt like major déjà vu.

Kabinett & Kammer is in the tiny hamlet of Andes, New York and is one of a handful of antique stores there. Sean, the owner, is an artist and collector and his stock of 19th century prints, taxidermy, and myriad of shells and scientific instruments is clearly curated to his interests in science, history, education and the extraordinary natural world.
This store looks beautiful...how did I miss it?!?

Yes, to Lisa from Montreal, do plan a trip to Andes. I love it there, although now that the trees are past their fall peak, perhaps try the trip in better weather. The town is pretty funky, and with quite a few of these low profile shops like the Damien Hirst-esque Kabinett & Kammer, it's a good place to shop. You'll never run into a crowd.
