Over at AT LA, Alec has dug up Hollywood Creations, a small woodshop in LA that does exquisite, modern work. We like their Rift Sawn Oak Desk for it's simplicity, low-rise storage ability and the fact that our knees won't knock against the table legs when we slide around in a chair. Sides and front are birch, legs are poplar and drawer pulls are walnut. Price? $1500.
