Rolly Desk by Matt Carr for Umbra

8-4-rolly-desk-1.jpg

Matt Carr's Rolly Family of Products just got a little bigger with the addition of a new desk. Made with solid walnut legs and a walnut veneer surface and shelves, the desk features rolling tambour doors like the popular Rolly Table...

It's a sleek and refined piece is influenced by Scandinavian mid-century design and should mix well with various styles. The Rolly Desk measures 47" x 34.5" x 29.5" and is available online from Umbra for $735.

I bought the rolly side table on floor sale from a DWR for cheap - which is good because the tambour doors are a little rough looking. 450 for the table was a bit pricey - 750 for the desk seems a little more manageable.

The one thing I will say - the walnut top of the table is aging amazingly! Its got a beautiful grain and patina!

I saw this desk in person the other day - it's quite nice.

Modfan--

DWR currently lists the Rolly Table for only $350 - not $450, although I see it's listed online elsewhere for as high as $420.

You can also buy it direct from Umbra for $319 (the desk is listed at $735) and I bought my Rolly Side Table from an online retailer in Texas for $279.

It definately pays to shop around online...

i vote you make a 7th AT section called "AT on the Cheap" or something. I don't want to spend half a paycheck on something. It's nice though. Too much stuff on this website is too expensive, at least for me.

I wholeheartedly agree with chusmabilly. It's a handsome desk, but way out of my budget, as much that's featured here often is.

Very cute, but not sturdy quality. I used to work at a store that sold the rolly table, and it totally fell apart. I'd save my $$$ for something SOLID.
