We found these consoles at Chista and thought it the perfect palate cleanser for what has been a busy day with clients outside of the office. Chista is the creation of Alon Langotsky, who uses his eye to both preserve the natural shape of his material and discover an essential shape inside of each piece.
These "jumbo-sized monumental consoles are made of a single solid piece of rare teak wood" and do the job of standing up and supporting your keys and mail without any effort. While this is high end fare, the simplicity of the pieces and the active gesture of the shape could nicely be translated into something as simple as plywood.

Hello,
Does anybody know if there are any other stores with similar stuff?
Thanks,
These people are not very responsive. I was even unable to get a price from them over the phone.
Good luck if you buying something from them.
Bob
Do other people agree that when you phone a vendor the person who answers the phone should have pricing information? When I called I was told to email, and still haven't received a price from them a day later. It's a shame because they have really gorgeous products and could do very well if they responded in the standard manner. Their current method encourages people to look elsewhere, which is what we're doing.
Visiting their main New York showroom was one of the best showroom experiences I have had. Museum quality pieces and settings, and a story behind every piece.
I actually found the staff to be very helpfull.
Dave
