AD3 Desk

2004_11_18_atlasdesk.jpg
Just one more. We saw this desk a week ago and thought that if we were ever to go hard modern, this would be our desk. Totally minimal, with strong, thin lines, and the touch of wood, the AD3 Desk seems just about perfect.

Designed by Thomas Wright for Atlas Industries in Brooklyn, the AD3 comes in cold rolled steel or stainless and your choice of hardwood: cherry, maple or walnut. Pricing? It's coming... Desks start at $3400 and go up to about $4500 depending on choice of wood and steel, stainless being the most expensive. MGR

that is one of the most beautiful desks i have ever seen. and i'm not even a hard-modernist kind of person.

I'm adding "hard modern" to my personal lexicon.

The utility of milk-crate shelves and the lines of a folding card table have been brought together at last! Let us bask in the brilliance of our civilization.

Not unlike a neighbors desk made from a hollow-core door (~$35), a filing cabinet (~$20), and 2 legs (~$20)--or use r filing cabinets. More value, not to mention it makes a great buffet table--and you can disassemble for moving!
