Hot or Not? Screw Top Tables by Tom Dixon

screw-top-table-1.jpg

Check out one of the newest designs from Tom Dixon, the Screw Top Table. While the concept is a simple one — an industrial strength screw allows for multiple table heights by simply spinning the table surface — this one is executed in simple and beautiful materials. The tripod base is made of cast iron (it reminds us of Prouvé) and the top is white marble. Industrial chic designed to last!

The Screw Top Table is available in two sizes:
Screw Table Small has a 60cm table top, a minimum height of 55cm and a maximum height of 84.5cm.

Screw Table Large
has a 90cm table top, a minimum height of 55cm and a maximum height of 84.5cm.

No word on pricing yet — we can't wait to give these tables a spin at ICFF!

I like the idea of an adjustable table but I don't like the colouring of the screw itself and the base is kind of ugly. In a different articulation of this idea, I could get behind this.

Wisteria carries something very similar-- and undoubtedly better priced.

I agree. The basic idea is totally wonderful, especially for a small space, but this particular table is not very attractive.

My husband would love the fact that the legs look like a wing-nut.

An industrial stool, only bigger. Excellence.

My BF is 6'6" and frequently has a tough time finding anything that fits his legs (furniture, cars, pants, stairwell overhangs...). Nice to see a piece of furniture that's both interesting conceptually and functional for him. No bruised knees for my baby!

A visual joke, which is funny and clever, but would grow tired eventually.

I made one of these a few years ago, using a table top and an adjustable stool. I also made the top removable as I live in a small space and can't always have the table out all the time. Easy DIY and very useful!
