While we are more familiar with Modernica's version, we reckon that the original design is Eames and the real thing would be the Eames Wire-Base Table (LTRT - $157) which you can still get through the Eames Office or through DWR for $129.

Both versions are made of solid wire bases (you can stand on them) with wood or laminate tops. The classic colors are white or black, but the Modernicans come in many colors. MGR

I've known and liked these for years, but have been baffled by the fact that nobody seems to make a $30 version. Is the design patented? They'd make great speaker stands, but the price has always offended my more frugal sensibilities when it comes to wire and plywood.
I have always liked this piece, because it can be used in any room and in so many ways. I recently got a hankering to buy one as stage for a bhudda head. I also love the paul kjaerholm mini
cubes as well.
I used to attempt to buy these on ebay for around $40. I was never successful.
At one point (maybe about 3-4 years ago), Modernica used to stock versions photo-printed images on laminate. If I recall correctly, blades of grass, pebbles, and blue sky-white clouds. Maybe they still do?
