NY Good Questions: Where Can I Find This Table In NYC?

6.2table.jpgDear AT,

I'm trying to look for this table in New York City and am having no luck.

I've found it sold in Italy and UK websites, but they don't have retailers in NY.

Could you please help?

I know there are other convertible coffee tables posted on AT, but I think this one is quite sleek and will work great in my NY apartment. Thanks! Monique

It can help if the sources in other countries are named.

Here is the table at Dwell U.K.:

Yes, I have seen some neat stuff at that online store too, that I do wish was available here in the U.S.

Have you written to them to ask about the maker of the item?

Hey Trueblue,

I have emailed to Dwell to ask them whether it is sold in the US and they say they don't have retailers here. I have also found another italian company that sells it - Ozzio, but they also told me they don't have any US retailers and do not ship individual orders. So no luck yet :(

Aw, that's too bad. All I found was this that shows the other finishes:
http://pdf.archiexpo.com/pdf/ozzio-design/ozzio-design-2006-en-it-de-fr-es/9625-11630-_84.html

Page 85 shows how it opens.

There is one idea. Do you have shops locally that sell similar items at a similar price point?

Print out the images from the catalog, along with the website addresses. Leave it with the store manager(s) of the store(s) you have locally.

If THEY think it will sell well, THEY may make the effort to order up several. Then YOU can get it locally! Yay!

And considering the high costs per square foot of housing in big cities, that table makes total sense. I even dig the way they have the folding chairs on a rack of some sort (page 83).

If one had a decent closet, one could put the rack of chairs away. And have a regular living room. But if you wanted to have a dinner party, just whip out the chairs, transform the table, and there ya go.

At about 800.00 a pop retail, it might be well worth while for the local store to get them in. Because while Ozzio may not ship individual orders, they certainly would ship out to a retailer! I just don't know what kind of minimum order they would need.

I love this table too, Monique! It's gorgeous! I'll keep checking back here to see if anyone has found a place that sells it in the U.S. My first thought was it is a bit pricey for a coffee table, but when I realized it's a dining table AND a coffee table, it becomes a major bargain.

Did anyone ever figure out a way to get this table in the United States? It looks perfect!
