DIY Dish Adorning at Craftster

Adorn your own dishes. We spotted this project over at Craftster, where patterns have been transferred onto plain white plates. The transfer material is apparently foodsafe but is not dishwasher safe...

More from the DIY'er: Well Guys, since I am from Germany I used a German product and i have no idea if it is available in the U.S. It's called "Color Decor" and can be bought on German ebay. It can be used on glass and metal also. It's a foil on a release paper you can cut out and then put into water to remove from the release paper. Then you place it on the plate or whatever, let it dry and then bake it at the oven at about 180°C. It's food safe but unfortunately not dishwasher safe.

Anyone know of such a material? This looks like a wonderful DIY project to us!

There's a transfer material from Lazertran that could work. You can bake it onto ceramics, but I don't know if it's food-safe or not.
