Winter House. Gouache on paper. 2007I find these curious because for all their starkness, these images also convey a feeling of familiarity, of warmth. Anyone else see that? They also seem simultaneously historical and contemporary. Makes for an interesting tension to me -- but what do you all think? Would you like to live with one of these in your home?

they strike me as memories. the information they include is minimal, but what is shown is perhaps the three to four things you really remember about that moment. i remember the scarecrow sagging, i remember josh's trike nearby, i remember the raggedness of the tree horizon...
almost impressionistic , albeit symbolically rather than visually.
