Introducing Carrie Moyer
who is interested in, "expanding the gene pool of painting through the introduction of new technologies as well as contemporary social and political concerns." It's her pale silhouettes and shocks of color that grabbed my attention -- and see below... you gotta love all the glitter!

from her visiting artist bio off the cooper-union site…"Her paintings grab twentieth-century resistance graphics off the web and embeds these histories within a frame of modernist painting gestures." I didn't notice that imagery at first... but take a closer look.

Moyer shows at Canada – a gallery worth visiting on the lower east side…55 Chrystie btw Hester and Canal (actually in an old slaughter house...sounds grim, but a very cool space, go find them).

Know any artists whose work would make a home a lovelier place? Send ideas to The Gallery. Thanks!
