Introducing Jeff Konigsberg, an artist who works in the curious intersection of architecture and landscape, at once both interior and exterior, imagined and remembered.

In the case of his wall drawings, there is an accumulation of views from an actual place – usually a space with windows – and his drawing brings the interior and exterior views together, collapsing these into a layered map of his experience in this space over time.

Below are installation photographs of two such wall drawings (he paints directly onto the wall, as well as carves into the wall board).

These are tricky to decipher, but it is fun to try; finding references to buildings outside, as well as the room in which it has been installed.

He also makes smaller drawings on illustration board. I love looking at these drawings from a distance and then close up -- both very different experiences.

You start to lose the clarity of the space when you get very close (I’d say they beckon you to come closer), and instead marvel over their intense linear detail.

These are meticulously rendered in ink and layers of airbrushed acrylic – and easy to get lost inside. Enjoy.

These are lovely. I look forward to looking at Konigsberg's site when I'm not so slammed at work.

Omygod, they are gorgeous.
Funny, how having practiced architectural [manual] rendering makes you appreciate a fine artist.

Such a beauty, esp. the blue one... Thank you for bringing him here.

They are absolutely amazing. Real pieces of Art. Any plans to sell prints? It would look lovely in a nice wood frame over my fireplace :)
