Introducing Laurie Reid who has a gift for making the accidental and spontaneous, begin to look organized.

Drips and drops start to look like writing,

... or become silken threads and webs and networks.

And every design has plenty of room to breathe, set against all that white space; a very welcome place to rest one's eyes.

I came across Reid's work at Gallery Joe302 Arch Street, in Philadelphia. They are always one of my favorite booths at Affordable Art Fair here in the city. If you are curious about any of the works shown here, you might try contacting the artist directly via email or simple write to Gallery Joe Her work is also available through galleries in NYC, Atlanta, Portland, San Francsico and Seattle.

Know any artists whose work would make a home a lovelier place? Send ideas to The Gallery. Thanks!

Reminds me of painting as a child. Make a drip, blow it into lines. Make another drip, blow more lines.
