Polaroid Panorama
Master of the Polaroid panorama, darling of the night, and toast of the weblogswe bring you Paul Scheik, a wandering minstrel of a photographer who makes his subject the people and things he encounters on his constant travels throughout the US.
We first saw his work on the Polaroid Photography Collective, an addictive site where the triptych below can be found (and a print purchased for $7 -- what a deal!).
Polaroid Panorama from Plrd.com
Some trolling on Google revealed a few more Polaroid panoramas posted on other blogs. I love these. I have no idea how to track them down.
And it seems he may be a Polaroid-by-day/Single-Reflex-by-Night artist as he recently had a show of nighttime photographs (see below) at the Stephen Wirtz Gallery in San Francisco.
These photographs are all untitled digital chromogenic prints, 20 x 24 inches, printed in editions of 10.

The images do not show up (in Mozilla).
Or in IE.
Too neat. Thank you.
I love these! Thanks Amy.
You've got some bum links at the end there... You're missing some = signs, and some quote marks...
Nice photos though.
You can delete this post if you like.
So -- Did anyone figure out how / where to purchase his panoramics. There appears to be no option on the linked site.
sorry about all the bum links. if you are interested in the polaroids, go to plrds.com and under the photo image (changes every time you go to the site) there is a "Buy Photos" option ... as well as a "Keep buying photos" at the very bottom of the index page.
the gallery that recently showed his work is at: www.wirtzgallery.com/exhibitions/2006/2006_01/schiek/schiek_2006_frame.html
