Twins: 12" x 8" (dyptich), acrylic, oil and paper collage on canvas, $800
Introducing Sienna Horton.
Dividing her time between her studio in brooklyn and her native alaska, horton is crafting breathtaking collages. They caught my eye last weekend when I was poking around in DUMBO.
Cordoba: 43" x 60", acrylic, oil and paper collage on wood panel (sold)
Her influences include quilts, topographical maps, and observing the interplay between decay and new growth in wilderness and city.
Meadow: 38" x 50", acrylic, oil and paper collage on wood panel (sold)
Detail of Meadow
Rain: 48" x 44” acrylic, oil and paper collage on canvas, $3,500
Snow Bowl: 48" x 48” acrylic, oil and paper collage on canvas, $3,500
Topograph: 42"x48" acrylic, oil and paper collage on canvas, $3,000
Sienna doesn't have an artist’s statement per se. Just poetry, like so:

“The best thing about Anchorage is that it’s 15 minutes from Alaska.”
my 1985: anchorage, alaska
dominated by
carports
and garages
shushed
and beaten
wives
hardy stock
childhood: alaskan
memory spotty salmon eggs
a connect-the-dots book
colored by moose blood
blanketed in snow
season: summer-time
it takes to be life
cessna floatplanes
motorhomes and
fishing boats
rust emerging
