Introducing Wendy Heldmann

I like this LA artist's point of view; looking up at trees.

Looking up, seeing the silhouettes of leaves, tree tops reaching in, a symmetry that might be artist-imposed, and a few surprising shifts of color... give me a sense a spaciousness and balance.

But what's all this about unease? Are these titles wry?

From a statement about Heldmann's work, "With translated imagery from photographs and videos taken from walks, pictures, traveling, and experiences, she fragments the representation of a place so that the pieces become part memory, part imagining, and part copying/doubling."

This is how/why I redesigned my bedroom. When I lay in bed now I have a very high porthole window in the side wall and all I can see in the morning is sky and branches. It's heaven.
