Over at Apartment Therapy L.A., Alec is pondering the Mauviel 5-quart Copper Mixing Bowl. He's not so sure he wants to fork over $75 to Williams-Sonoma for something he'll be using for lemon storage more than whipping up a meringue.
How about the $39.95 version at Cooking.com instead? Or upgrade to the 6-quart model at Fantes Kitchen Wares Shop for a mere $24.99. At that price, we should all be making perfect peaks with our egg whites.

Can't be too sure from the photos, but cheaper options look "finished" on the inside. Copper bowls are touted for beating egg whites because of a chemical thing that goes on between the copper and the eggs that speeds up the process. If its' the kind of copper that you don't need to polish, I don't think it works.
What I'd really like to know is where's that bowl holder from?
