The Ultimate DIY: Building a Cabin
The New York Times — From The Ground Up Blog

spanphoto11.jpgSince December, Lou Ureneck has been building a cabin in Stoneham, Maine. Undeterred by winter, he's managed to put the foundation pillars in, frame the floor, and assemble the cabin's post and beam frame. In order to keeps costs below $30,000, he is scrounging for recycled materials and doing much of the work himself. He's chronicling his progress for The New York Times blog, From The Ground Up and we've been living vicariously through him all winter.
