I am a night owl and since everyone goes to bed at a "normal" hour in my building, the heat shuts off at 11 PM...meaning that by the time I go to bed at 2 AM, I am chilled to the bone and have a very hard time warming up when I first climb into bed. I can't fall asleep for a bit as I am shivering for at least 15 minutes or so. I was considering an electric blanket, but this seems even more sensible as it comes from underneath and heat rises!
Plus, I think this will convince my cats to cuddle on top of my bed more and give me warmth from above, too...:)

Who would believe that us Southerners actually need warm blankets!? But it's true - we have had snow twice already here in Atlanta and we're completely lacking warm blankets and other accouterments to cope with the cold. This winter is promising at least one more snowfall and another month's worth of cold weather, and this heated mattress pad would certainly help us stave off the cold.

Oh my goodness, could I ever use this. I was just changing my bed this weekend and looked at the pitiful condition of my mattress pad. Plus, it costs too much to turn on my heat in my apartment, and I have to turn it on anyway, because it's so cold, and I'm on chemotherapy right now, and need not to invite getting a cold. This luxury heated mattress pad would come in so handy and make my life so much better. Thanks for the opportunity to win this item. Thanks so much. Cathie :) cathieway@cathieway.com

oO0o0ooh how cozy!

Having just moved to SF from the other Coast I was not prepared for the 40 degree temps we've been experiencing. Not particularly terrific for my Raynaud's. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raynaud's_disease
Besides, what a perfect excuse for not getting out of bed.

I am in Minnesota in a 97 year old house. It is 18 below wind chill here, and those winds cut right through my old homes cracks! With our gas bill being $366 last month we have turned to new ways to stay warm, including staying under the covers lots and lots!
Being warmed from the bottom up in the bed would be heavenly. I need this for every bed in my house, especially for my mom, who will be moving in with us soon, and she has trouble with arthritis in the cold. It would be so nice to bless her with a super warm bed!

My feet masquerade as ice blocks more often that I care to talk about. If I want to have any feeling in my feet at all I have to run hot hot hot water over them before getting into bed otherwise they are solid ice all night. This would be the answer to my prayers and hopefully the solution to my dilema. It really and truly sucks to wake up, stretch and get a muscle cramp in the arch of your foot because you are so cold. Generally the best way to loosen a cramp is to apply cold to it but when you are colder than ice it doesn't seem to work. That I have not gotten frostbite naturally is a miracle!

Wow, we could really use this. We live in student housing, which has a beautiful view down the hill of the ocean. Unfortunately, the apartments are 30 years old, and so is all the weatherproofing, so we have gaps around all the windows and doors. That ocean view also means ocean winds, and we have taken to using packing tape around our windows just so we can keep the furnace set below 80 (!) while keeping the place warm enough to get away with just sweaters and slippers during the day. Summers are nice, but these winters are freezing! Literally; we got snow here in Santa Cruz a couple nights ago.

Oh yeah, that sounds sooo good to me, I just heard from somebody ironing their sheets every night during the winter season and that made me think about how nice it would feel...this sounds right up there with it, I would love to own that!

how wonderful- we've been decreasing the temp in our home to save money due to my job loss and we've been thinking of buying something like this when I find a new job!

This would be lovely! It is unusually cold here of late and my part of the house isn't heated.

I'm a poor college student paying rent. my bed NEEDS something other than just a blanket and a pillow. this mattress pad would help me loads. i've never liked the cold so warm it would be to have this to roll around on.

Ooooh, cozy! I'd love to feel snuggly in my bed. Our heater is out right now. Yes, it doesn't work! I'm lucky in that it's only 60 degrees in the house right now, but man, it's cold! My laptop is keeping me warm since it puts off so much heat, so it's nice to have that, but I'd much rather use a heated mattress pad than a laptop to stay warm!

My bedroom has two sliding glass doors out to the back patio, and 5' wide windows on either side of the doors. So, the entire wall is basically glass. All of our heat goes into the kitchen, where the only radiator is, so when I shut my door at night, I have no heat plus a lot of cold air coming through the glass. I have been sleeping bundled up in my fleece robe! It would be wonderful to sleep comfortably.

The last time I "camped out" in my Victorian nightmare home which I affectionately call "VEGAS", it was 38 degrees....inside! I can't use the electric heater because it blows a fuse each time I have on a reading light at the same time! This might generate less electricity and would be a good alternative!
