We have been to Cancos, Artistic Tile, Bella and Ann Sacks so far and Ann Sacks has the best selection with the nicest showroom. And as far as prices go, they do have fancy stuff, but the only tile we have liked in our whole search we found at Ann Sacks and sells for $8.25 a square foot. With our small floor, it's not going to break the bank. Service was excellent and not snobby. (Photo: Ann Sacks) MGR

Ann Sacks is THE source for high-end/high-style tile. She is an industry pioneer, with an exquisite eye and a huge designer following. AND several of her own interiors have been published, and her exceptional taste does not stop where the grout leaves off.
The tile here *is* beautiful, but I remember walking in once to get the price on some glass tile in the window, only to learn that it was $100 a square foot. I'm sure there are bargains to be found there, but I wasn't going to snoop around to find them.
Can I just say how much I love that ad?
What is that tile in the photo? It's gorgeous!
Note to Chris and anyone else interested-
I searched on Ann Sacks' website for that info and couldn't find it. I've emailed their customer service dept. and will be happy to forward to you any information I receive. Email me privately with your address since it's not linked to your name in comments.
(I think it's lovely tile as well!)
I'd like to know the tile as well, please include me on your list.
sorry not to mention it. It's Erin Adams tile and we blogged it awhile ago...... go to www.erinadamsdesign.com.
Go to the Ann Sacks website, click on "Browse Catalog", then "Tile", then "Glass" and finally "Erin Adams Quilt". You'll find them there. Or there's a link through "Press Room" and "Advertisements".
Sorry Max, I think we overlapped!
Very, very spendy... Ann Sacks quotes the price as following -
Field Sizes
Quilt $156.00 sf
Mini Quilt $123.75 sf
Still yummy but far out of reach. (Well, for me.)

just so you know Patrik, Anne Saks is no longer their she was bought out by Kohler about four years ago. No wonder they charge so much, they have no regard for small retail.
I found some wonderful tiles at Ann Sacks: we needed a small amount for a backsplash, and while not cheap, we want to, er, splash out on a bit of color. Unfortunately, our 16 sq ft would only have cost $350, and Ann Sacks won't take orders for under $500.
What I resented was being told this after I had invested my time chosing the damn things (and expending the emotional energy agreeing with the rest of my household on a color, style, shape, pattern, etc).
We found great tile at Ann Sacks for $7 (Summit imitation stone) $13 (beaulieu glass tile) and $15 (Constellation iridescent glass) /SF.
Great service.
Our first order was for less than $200.
Extremely pleasant and efficient shopping.
The original poster (MGR?) says they found a nice tile for 8.25 sf. I wonder what that was?
