Transfer Kits by Tilano

0711_tilano2.jpg

In the mood for a small DIY project? This one's pretty neat. This company called Tilano makes photo transfer kits that allow you to transfer photographs or other graphics onto tile.

0711_tilano.jpgTransfer onto glass, wood, or marble tiles for a new way to display photographs in your home. Tilano has a variety of kits available.

We think these would make terrific gifts: either by making a tile yourself or giving the entire kit to someone. Our favorite would have to be the small marble tiles: we've seen a few in shops with old-fashioned-looking images on them and now we love that we have the chance to make a few ourselves. (Thanks, NicoleC1!)

I have been looking for something like this! I've needed a solution for my non-existent back-splash that isn't, well, your typical back-splash. I also wanted to do it myself, so this is a great resource. Thank you for sharing! I've also been searching for a DIY solution for my non-working fireplace. I've found some ideas, but maybe you know of something better?

wow. that's my name on their backsplash and I still think that's pretty tacky. yikes!!

sorry, regina, it's just totally not my thing. i don't really even like displaying framed photos, let alone tile my walls with them...

Can't wait to try to sell a house with that backsplash. Rip out the tile, or hope to find a buyer named Dean? : )

Yick. Reminds me of my aunt's "tatouage" kitchen. Call me crazy, but I don't want my goddaughter's face on my back splash.

Judging by the black and white photos and the size it looks like they are empty nesters. I bet they're not moving out of that house any time soon. Its not my taste, but I don't display any family photos.

Unbelievably tacky ... the only thing that would make it even more so would be a gratuitous, misplaced apostrophe!

: )
