Finding E-Coupons and Online Discounts

onlineshopping020609.jpg
We've gotten into the habit of checking for discounts or coupons before purchasing online. It takes a few seconds and we often find some sort of discount for major retailers. Do you search around for coupons for home goods? Below are some useful coupon websites.

Which websites help you find online discounts? The NPR story "On A Good Day, E-Coupons Save Her 80 Percent" mentioned The Krazy Coupon Lady. We usually start with a general search using the store name and the words "coupon" or "discount code." We've had good luck finding discount codes on RetailMeNot and Coupon Cabin. Many retail stores send out special discounts to email subscribers, so consider signing up for emails with your favorite big store. Product manufacturers sometimes offer discount codes on their websites.

A lot of credit cards offer discounts, or actually rebates, if you shop through their website.

Airlines (or at least Delta) will give you miles if you shop through theirs.

Sites like ebates and mrrebates will give you rebates that pay out quarterly if you shop through theirs.

I always check for coupons! Retailmenot seems most reliable to me. You can also buy access to private coupon codes (i.e., codes that are given to customers) on Ebay. I once paid $2 to get a code that saved me $150.

Fatwallet.com or slickdeals.net are good - they tend to be a bit tech heavy, but they have all sorts of coupons.

And you can get cashback through Bing.

Thank you for the discount sites you listed! I shop online fairly regularly, and I am so happy to find out about coupon codes. I have realized it is such an easy way to save money. My first experience with online discount shopping was on a site called www.savingswatch.com. I was able to get free shipping for a pair of shoes, and that was on top of a 40% discount. It was wonderful!
