This is a new idea: a persistent post for your tips only.
We get a lot of emailed tips, and we blog as many as we can, but some get left on the cutting room floor. So, in addition to sending us emails, we're going to experiment with taking tips right here (you can still email us).
We'll be pulling the best tips to posts on the front page, but this will insure that the all tips are shared immediately.
Got a tip?
Know of a great store, product or website? Let us know right here (no questions please).

Help the environment in little ways and everyone will benefit. Here are 3 quick ideas that everyone can do every day to save a little for Mother Earth:
1. Skip the bottled water and bring your own water bottle you can refill. With all of the fruit and vita-powders you can conveniently add to water now, there is no excuse for buying pre-bought flavored water with disposable bottles.
2. Skip the plastic bags at the grocery store and bring your own stylish reusable tote bags. These COOL Envirosax bags come in 3 collections made for men or women, with a convenient carrying pouch that holds all 5 bags, and at only $35 for 5 bags, it is affordable for everyone:

3. Start a compost bin for all of your degradable food leftovers and help your garden at the same time. Instead of tossing food in the garbage bin, buy a tumbler composter (they are available in small sizes for apartment dwellers as well) and give your soil some much needed nutrients while saving junk from the landfill! Here's a new concrete type product. Tiles that look like poured concrete. They are also made from recycled material I believe.

Once you've gotten yourself those cool Envirosax bags, or something similar... Install a hook by your front door, or wherever you keep your keys, and hang the bag there so you remember to take it with you when you go shopping.

I don't remember if I got this tip here or elsewhere, but I'll post it just in case it hasn't been posted here:
use a dish scrubber wand, the kind where you put in soap and it's automatically dispensed through the sponge, to scrub the tub or shower, either when you're showering or for a bigger tub cleaning. Here's one:
