Dont waste your money. Looks cool, but its a piece. I got one a few years back from (I think) WalMart for under $10.

Oh heavens. Lighters should be big, thick and colourful--so you can find them when you drop them in the failing dark as you're freezing and trying to get a fire going.

oops, you're all urbanites and probably don't camp much. But, really, a lighter should be kept high and out of reach, anyway (with kids in the house) and not hang out all sleek and cool on the coffee table.

(Am I letting out my inner snark today, or what?)

I've had one of these for a few years, it's quite nice. Works well, looks good.

Let's be serious for a moment. Matches are probably WAY less wasteful than this lighter. With matches you've only got the waste of some cardboard, cheap wood, and minor amounts of chemicals.

With a lighter you've got the plastics and metals used to make it, the metal butane container, the energy used to create and store the butane, etc.

But you won't find me giving up my lighter for a flint and steel any time soon.

We use this for our old cast-iron pilot-light-less Garland stove, we love it! Much prettier than the normal grill/fireplace ones (and no safety makes it easier). I got ours at MoMA for about the same price.

Don't know about this particular one but I have a cheap version (3 actually) that I bought at Big Lots for $2 each, the first one came apart when I went to refil, the whole inner works slid out, the second one made it through a couple of refillls, the slider get's stiff every so often and now it won't light and when it does, it's not burning, nor staying lit for more than a second or two.

The 3rd one is still in it's package.

What I mean is they are exactly alike the one pictured here, but in gold (toned that is).

How do you refill it. Recieved one last x-mas and I loved it a bit to much.
