Fireplaces are usually more rustic than sleek, but what about those looking for fireplace accessories for their modern homes?

These stainless steel tools are functional and look sharp. The tool rack shown here is wall mounted, to free up space around the hearth.

While I know these are not really fireplaces at all - and they aren't that cheap to boot - I've been dying to add some kind of a fireplace to my pad and I don't think my board would let me add a gas one. Does anyone here have experiences with gel fireplaces or have any reasons to think getting one of these would be a good/bad idea? The square model with the round hole would look fabulous in this one spot in my living room!
I hate that "modern" sometimes looks soulless, like these fireplace tools.
