I like these Guiletto (sp?) stools from DWR -- leather, colorful if you like, and only $140 a pop.

I don't know if these are new or if I just never noticed them before, but I recently saw the MALTE stool at IKEA and found it very attractive. It seems well-made, and comes in both counter and bar heights.

Oh, and on the other end of the price spectrum, I lust over Thos. Moser's Coal Shovel and High stools.

Does anyone know where I can find a 34" seat barstool that isn't too hideous?

has anyone seen the Marais Stool in a counter height version? the 30" one is too tall for a counter height (36") table... is there a 24" version? i can't seem to find the smaller one in the photo. thanks!

a lot of these stools are pleasing to the eye. I could pick anyone and like them. But when it comes to practicality combined with style, the LEM Piston Stool is bar none. Nothing else compares to it, as it is so flexible and it can adjust to any weight for any body. My problem in bars or counters always is that the chair is high or low, this stool does away with that problem. And now that you can get them in leather - oh so plush. I wouls be very happy with the wooden ones too.

Except for the footrest, these bar and counter stools are totally covered in leather. I have the dining chairs in black, and love the fact that they're smallish while being super comfy to sit in.

I daydream about counter-height stools that my friends can sit at to annoy me when I'm in the kitchen doing last-minute pre-dinner things, but that can convert to table-height to serve as extra dining chairs. At Ikea prices. Of course.

I use B-Pop side chairs at my kitchen table and everyone who comes over seems to be drawn to them. I'm actually hoping to pick up two more of them this weekend...

does anyone have any suggestions for some taller stools? my kitchen dining counter is about 46" high, so i would need a stool taller than 30".. what's a good height?
