If you are shopping for bathroom fixtures, where do you go? This is the big question, but full disclosure: we don't have all the answers. We post this with the best resources we know and hope that others will add to it. As with all Top 10 Lists, we change and amend them over time.

Well, you might also want to have a look at your local hardware store, for a couple of reasons:
If your needs are not too exotic and they DO have what you want and you like the service you've had there before, it's kind of nice to buy local, and give them your business.
It's very easy to head over there, while you're there for other things, just on an initial scoping-out mission. Because if your needs ARE exotic, then you'll want to know exactly what pedestrian really looks like first.
There's some pretty cool stuff at the Expo Design Center, from the standards to the sharp-lined modern stuff.
I second Expo Design Center. I recently cashed-in some American Express Membership Rewards points, got a Home Depot/Expo gift card, and headed out to Expo in a ZIP car. Got some great bath fixtures for my new loft.
I heard a nasty rumor (well, more than a rumor, since it came from an Expo employee, at an NJ location that is temporarily closing) that some of the Expos are being rolled into a new "super Home Depot" concept.
Is there an Ikea-equivalent of bathroom fixtures? Like, low prices but clean modern design?
i also recommend www.faucet.com if you have an idea of what you are looking for and are looking for the best price. i just helped someone with a bathroom overhaul and was able to find all of the bath fixtures on faucet.com that were on backorder 6-8 weeks elsewhere, and at a lower price. the salespeople were incredibly helpful and shipping was fast. i recommend this source based on my recent experience.
Grand Central Showroom (formerly Bond Bath) on Bond and Lafayette

CVK--
If I am not mistaken, IKEA actually sells a limited number of sink/tap combos.
And don't forget some of the mass-market retailers like Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn (Bed & Bath catalog)
Park Slope Plumbing Supply (718-832-0400; 601 5th Ave.) I went to Smolka, Blackman, Decoware, Home & Stone and Home Depot. PSPS gave me contractor's prices and in some cases, matched lower prices I found elsewhere. Mark was patient and knowledgeable, and found the Jado product I wanted when the company told me it would be out of stock for three months.
