I'd love to hear what people think about the mattresses themselves, not just the toppers. I have a very very nice regular mattress which just isn't doing it for my back. So, I only hesitate on the foam mattresses because I don't know which is best. Back pain is horrid, so I'm willing to pony up for good foam.

One in paticular I was looking at has a down top over a memory foam pad.
I had one in my hand at the store yesterday and was ready to buy, but thought I needed to consult with AT'ers first.
It is a pricey purchase for something I'm not sure I will like.

David, not sure this will help, but it seems a lot thinnner than other just-foam mattress pads in the same price range. The LNT website says that this is 1.75" thick, and that's with the down around the foam. On the other hand, it might be a bit cooler to have the down between you and the foam (yes, I know down's job in life is to keep birds and people warm). So I see + and - to this item. I guess another plus is that with the down over the foam, you won't be able to see when the foam turns that icky yellow color.

Novaform is INDEED way too short. I have a CA King and bought a CA king topper and it is 6 inches too short. I have this gap at the end of the bed. However, I love the product. Does anyone have an snswer?
