I agreed - I always loved West Elm but it wasn't my style - this has my name all over it! Signed up for the catalog and have my finers crossed that the prices are as reasonable as West Elm was.

I love this stuff, but notice that it is being displayed in a setting rich with architectural details. Can this be used successfully in my 80's condo with 8 foot ceilings and no details? What do you think?

maybe it's just because i have no great love of victorian style chandeliers, but ok, seriously, this is not THAT cool an idea. and it makes it seem like they have an extremely limited inventory.

that said, i like everything else! definitely will be checking them out if they open a store in these parts.

I think the chandeliers are hung so low simply in order to display them along with everything else in the room within ONE photo.

Margaret, if you own your condo, add some details. Molding and paint is an inexpensive way to create a richer look. I faked a tin ceiling in my bathroom with a $10.00 roll of embossed wallpaper and some copper metallic paint.

I can't wait until they send out their catalog mid September, I'm dying to see their prices!

I know it is supposed to be very hip and now, but honestly, this is a bit too ornate for me. Very Anthropologie-like, no? I'm also very curious to take a look at the catalog, but I just can't see myself replicating the whole look.. and I live in a very similar space to the one in the photos!

To my taste a little of this stuff goes a long way, maybe okay as an an accent or two. I do love the green throw pillows on the bed in the first picture, but I wouldn't want a whole apartment decorated with this ornate a style. If I had a place and space for a chandelier I wouldn't mind one of those.

i think this looks fantastic....there are touches of decoration, but the rooms still look very clean and i LOVE the low chandeliers....i can't wait to get a catalog!!!!

don't let RH hear you call it similar to anthropologie. according to them - anthropologie is french country and brocade is french modern.

Nice gilded aesthetic without steep price or the often antique mustiness of vintage furniture. Wouldn't furnish my whole house from them, but could certainly see adding a few pieces for effect

WHOA. Did they really have to be so literal with whole brocade theme?? It's a brocade fabric explosion. The catalog says they're "fresh"... to me it's more gothic & moody. I dunno - can they really build an entire business on a single trend?

Re Daphne's post above - although I'm not always on top of what Anthropologie has available for the home, I was questioning why everyone was comparing them to the Brocade catalog. I was in the store in Rock Center recently, and other than the duvet cover I was checking out, their entire home section definitely had a country thing going on. Not my taste. The Brocade Catalog on the other hand, looks amazing. There's no denying that this is a feminine, glamourous look, lined in oh so touchable velvet.

This realy is an overall clean look.
i love a victorian house but w/ a mix of furniture.
why not have some fabulous vicurvacious piece mixed w/ a mid century table and a really contemporay lamp.

So, I got the Brocade Home catalog in the mail today! Here's what I like. I like that it has wide reach -- opulent yet minimalist, trendy yet traditional, and feminine-elegant but with edge.

Here's what I don't like. "Brocade" is a trendy pattern; why name your entire catalog for a trend, and such a literal one? This line is meant to target a younger, trendier audience than Restoration Hardware, so what happens when brocade becomes fuddy-duddy again? Really. If you're trying to channel old-school elegance but with a modern twist, you need a more sophisticated name. And it should be a name with lasting power.

I absolutely love this catalogue and was searching for the website when I found this...I am saving my rainy day pennies to buy a bedframe I'm in love with....I love just looking through it over and over. Like Anthropologie but cheaper, like West Elm, but less ethnic, more romantic....love it!!

This reminds me of the Cher catalog from about 10 years ago. It only came out once or twice, then closed. But it had this same dark, Gothic feel to it.

Looking at the catalog, I fear that the quality will be as poor as West Elm can be.

In any case, it will be nice to have something new out there, since things were starting to look very much the same between PB, RH & C&B.

And since it's part of RH, you can be assured of Brocade opening stores (if RH's finances hold out).

Well, I bought that Hand Carved Bed Frame pictured above with the swirly greenish quilt and pillows on it. Initially my order did not go through. I called back a week later and discovered this on a Monday night. I had the bed on Thursday. I'm extremely slow pokie at anything so it took me three hours to assemble the bed all by myself. That includes watching tv, flipping channels, eating dinner, resting my back and gingerly wiping the pieces down with a Swiffer.

The bed looks much better in person. The stain really highlights the wood grain. The picture makes it look so dark it seems painted chocolate. Not so. In actuality there are variations in the stain that make it a much...homier piece.

The total cost was over $600 but I think this bed and I are going to go the distance. I'll post photos on my Flickr this weekend.

I purchased a chair for my desk -- in the lavendar and ccoco. Better quality and stunning little lady chair. It perfect and met my needs. Will buy again -- shipping is still High though.

i purchased an upholstered chair, a white mirror and the clear chandelier and love all three pieces. all look even better in person and i think the quality for the price is really great! i would definitely buy from them again. i am hoping to see some new things from their new catalog in feb...

They need some non-traditional rugs. I think brightly colored Art Deco (think Nichols rugs)would be nice, but not in the Chinese patterns.

I am thinking it looks like a total Designers Guild knockoff. They even used DG wallpaper on several of the walls in the photos. Its a bit much I think.

I am addicted to their catalogs and in love. The spring catalog brings the same curvy and voluptiousness the fall catalog had but in light white washed tones. I'm just waiting for the timing to be right to order my loveseat. A lover of texture, this catalog is what this texture lover modernist ordered up.

Has anyone purchased anything from the Silhouette line? I'm thinking about the 72" table for my dining room. I live in a crazy big old Victorian house, but love clean modern furnishings. This catalogue is spot on, but I'm concerned about quality.

it seems the key to having this sort of look, is to manage to keep things as sparse and uncluttered as possible, just as they do in the catalog. It does help to have 12-14 ft ceilings and lovely plaster moldings, fireplaces, etc. Old world meets mod ----- what fun !!!

I think mixing some of these pieces in with some modern, linear, furniture could really be a great combo, to mix feminine in with more masculine and break the monotony of a single style. I have the catalog and the prices are far more reasonable than Anthropologie's furniture. Don't know anything about the craftsmanship though.

i actually just rec'd my order yesterday....i bought the crystal chandelier, the silhouette dining table, 4 upholstered chairs and some window panels. although i fell in love with the catalog, i have to tell u that the products look even better in person. what u get for the price is by FAR superior to anything out there--anthropologie, pottery barn, restoration hardware, etc....i wish they had a store as i would LOVE see all of this stuff in person. it's the most exciting home product out there at the moment and i think there are alot of different ways u can use them. anyone wondering about the quality vs price i can tell u that u won't be disappointed!!!!!

I just received this catalogue in the mail and was wondering who was behind it, and Resto makes sense.

I cannot buy a piece of furniture without sitting on it, but the sectional looks stunning, tho not too comfy/cozy.

Best of luck to them, as that will prompt them to open a store hopefully. I wonder why the fact that Resto is behind them is such a mystery...that fact tells me that they are for real and know what they're doing. Hmmm...interesting, no?

The furniture looks great, but a word of caution: I ordered a silhouette bed frame and open carved headboard. The bed frame arrived (it's all self assembly) after a month, but the headboard did not come for a further 7 weeks despite the fact that I was told at the time of order that they would arrive at the same time. When the headboard did arrive, the holes for assembly did not line up with the bed frame meaning it could not be put yp. I am still waiting for Brocade to resolve this issue, and looking at a large cardboard box that's dominating my bedroom. Not exactly the decorative touch I was hoping for. Oh, and one last thing, when they say they'er going to call you back, they're not.

BEWARE OF BROCADE

THEY ARE HELL TO ORDER FROM AND 5 OUT OF THE 6 ORDERS I PLACED CAME BROKEN!!! I HAD TO RETURN THE SAME DRESSER TWICE AND ON THE THIRD ATTEMPT NOT ONLY WAS BROCADE OUT OF STOCK THE BUT THE ITEM WAS DISCONTINUED!! TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE I ALREADY OWNED SOME OF THE FURNITURE AND NOW MY ROOM WILL BE INCOMPLETE

I WAS ALSO DISTURBED WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT THE FURNITURE IS ALL MADE IN VIETNAM!!! WHY ARE THEY SO EXPENSIVE!!!

BROCADE IS IKEA WITH WORSE QUALITY...A HEADACHE AND NIGHTMARE

I also have an unfortunate experience with an order placed with Brocade Home. The customer service is less than stellar and even non-responsive over the past two days. Not only did they charged my credit card twice in error but I have yet to recieve my $1200 order that was due over a week ago because it was delivered to the wrong place last week. I realize that may be the shipper's error but Brocade Home is the one who needs to take action! Too bad I really want what I ordered...otherwise I'd cancel it altogether!

Quality is atrocious, as is customer service. Charming and fanciful as their stuff looks, Brocade Home is a chimera. It's all set dressing; designed, styled, lit and photographed to look real. When it arrives (if, when & occasionally broken) the construction and fabrics are incredibly shoddy. No wonder the store exists only in cyberspace. RH is the parent company and appeals should be directed to them, since the Brocade seems to be run by blase teens.

i just went on their site today and it's shut down due to the tremendous response to their sale. uhh ok...
