Pillows, pillows, pillows. Michele Varian has a real clear niche. Her store is a jewel box of brightly colored fabrics (silk, ultrasuede, velvet, muslin...) wrapped around pillows, throws, cushions and bedspreads in styles that range from floral to geometric to solid.
There are large floor pillows and 'wittle, 'wittle ones that a pekinese could sit on. the style range is broad, and downtown and uptown would be at home here. Prices run from $85 to around $200 for most pillows, and her stunning Willow Tree Scrim is $625.
If you are looking for pillows or accessories for a couch or bed - something that will highlight and not fade away - Michele Varian should be on your list. On the other hand, if you don't like color and/or prefer you pillows to be modern and understated, stay away .
