Wall of Postcards by The Random Project

08.23.postcards.jpg

We used to tape postcards and photos all over our walls in high school and college. We think it probably came down with a desire to surround ourselves with reminders of our friends, family, and travels. This wall of postcards on Flickr reminded us of our old habit.

It kind of makes us want to start this up again, if we could find some more adult, controlled way to do it. (photo by The Random Project on Flickr.) Go here for more info on The Random Project and how you can contribute a postcard.

i have boxes full of postcards (not huge boxes, but photo boxes) - some that i've received in the mail from friends and family, some that are the free advetisements that you can pick up in restaurants and stores. i feel like it's an odd collection, but some of them have interesting design! anyway, a slightly grown-up way to display - a few years ago i picked a few of my favorites and framed them. just picked up some of the simple clip frames from ikea that fit 3-4 pictures in them, and used black poster board as the backing. i think it turned out pretty well - but it's not as impressive as a whole wall of postcards :)
